Career Opportunities for Students at Tulane Energy Institute

A former Wall Street executive, Geoffrey J. “Geoff” Block has served as manager of South Carolina-based RLB Squared, LLC, since 2013. An alumnus of Tulane University, Geoff Block continues to support the school via donations to its athletic programs and its Freeman School of Business.
The Freeman School of Business at Tulane University offers graduate and undergraduate programs, and includes four distinct centers and institutes, including the Tulane Energy Institute. Here, students can take advantage of the fact that Louisiana is a leader in natural gas and crude oil production to pursue the many available career opportunities in the energy sector. Programming at the Tulane Energy Institute focuses on topics such as energy accounting, economics, analytics, risk management, trading, and operations and supply chain management.
Students completing master’s degrees at Freeman receive specializations in energy if they complete at least nine semester credit hours of energy courses offered via the Tulane Energy Institute. Moreover, since 2011, the institute has offered a 10-month master of management in energy program that prepares students for positions at energy companies, trading organizations, utilities, and financial services and consulting firms. The institute is supported by an advisory board that includes executives and leaders from companies such as Cypress Pointe, Inc., Manhattan Resources, Citadel, LLC, and Questar Pipeline.
