Outside of his being a manager in New York City, Geoffrey “Geoff” J. Block has spent a significant amount of time volunteering. Geoff Block most recently was involved with Hungry Heart through the Lowcountry Strong Foundation in South Carolina.

The Lowcountry Strong Foundation aims to provide programs and services that revolve around disaster assistance for those people living in Jasper and Beaufort Counties, and those who live in South Carolina’s low country. Qualified applicants can get assistance with repair and renovation of their homes, food, and medical assistance up to $15,000.

To get assistance, residents must meet a few requirements. Assistance recipients must be full-time residents of either county with a combined household income of less than $85,000. They must demonstrate a critical financial need due to excessive damage to their property. The foundation requires income verification and documentation of medical, housing, and food needs. Applications can be accessed online at the foundation’s website at https://www.lowcountrystrong.com/.
