Geoffrey “Geoff” J. Block leverages decades of business and real estate development experience to inform his role as a manager of a successful real estate development company in South Carolina. Outside of work, Geoff Block provides support to nonprofit organizations that include youth athletics and the Hilton Head Chamber of Commerce.

Since its founding more than sixty years ago, the Hilton head Chamber has strived to improve the attractiveness of Hilton Head’s business economy while promoting tourism. The chamber also provides a variety of economic and business metrics for the region that range from visitor and resident demographics to real estate and the impact of tourism on the region. Moreover, the chamber’s website, thinkhiltonheadisland.org, makes a lodging dashboard available to the public.

Updated regularly, the lodging dashboard relies on the Smith Travel Research and Vacation Research Program for data collection. In addition to providing a monthly number of visitors to Hilton Head Island and average daily rates, the dashboard displays hotel, timeshare, and rental occupancy percentages. The dashboard also allows users to select between a current month snapshot, a current year to data snapshot, and monthly or annual comparisons to the prior year.
